Two years ago my husband I packed our bags and flew to Paris!  It wasn't technically our honeymoon, but sure felt like one! It was our anniversary gift to each other.

Having worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years, visiting Paris has always been a dream...and despite having traveled to China, Taiwan, Korea, and India for work, Paris never made my itinerary.

So, I took matters into my own hands, saved up, and organized my own trip! I searched for a Travel Agent, but struggled to find a trustworthy expert on Paris, so I began to research and curated my own dream journey. I utilized Expedia and Travelocity to book almost everything from flights, accommodations, and sightseeing activities.

I’m sharing this with you, so you know YOU CAN DO IT TOO!  Here are some of the top highlights, from where we stayed to places we visited…to inspire you to take the next step in booking your own trip come true!

  • Terrass Hotel

A boutique hotel conveniently situated in Montmartre, near shops, dining, and transit. We enjoyed the suite style room and rooftop restaurant with sweeping views of Paris, and another rooftop bar at night where you can see the sparkling Eiffel Tower in the distance.

  • Bateaux Parisiens Luxury Dinner Cruise on the Seine River

We spent our first night in Paris on this romantic dinner cruise, which was the perfect opportunity learn about the historic areas we'd be exploring over the next few days, and to unwind and enjoy each other's company while we adjusted to the time difference.

  • LV Dream Exhibit

A remarkable display showcasing the Louis Vuitton brand's history, creative collaborations, and innovative designs. LV highlighted incredible collabs with famous artists and pop culture icons over their history. I was able to channel this experience a few months later when doing a Sketch Event in their Flagship store in Tampa! As of March 2025 you can still see this exhibit.

  • The Eiffel Tower & Le Jules Verne Restaurant

To celebrate our anniversary we reserved one day just to visit the Eiffel Tower and have lunch at the 2 Michelin Star restaurant, Le Jules Verne. We ascended via private elevator to stunning views, and enjoyed a sophisticated meal that definitely broadened our palate. There's so many amazing cafes and restaurants in Paris that you can't go wrong, but this was a unique experience!

  • 1997 Fashion Big Bang

This incredible exhibition closed in July '23, but was an impressive presentation of designers whose impact on fashion in and around 1997 changed the landscape of Haute Couture. I was amazed by designer sketches (of course they spoke to me!) and original-from-the-runway masterpieces and amazing works from Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Hedi Slimane, Stella McCartney, Nicolas Ghesquière, Olivier Theyskens, and Gianni Versace.

  • Palace of Versailles

We squeezed a trip this landmark in on the fly after being told about it from some travelers we met on our trip. Opulent, stunning, and memorable, we were able to explore the palace, appreciate its historical importance, and admire the spectacular and expansive gardens. There is more artistry and detail per square inch in the Palace than I've ever seen! A must-visit if you've made it as far as France, Versailles is around 40 minutes from central Paris.
